About the Centre

The Centre provides facilities, with excellent accommodation, for artists and special interest groups in the small historic township of Clunes in Central Victoria.

The Arts Centre, the picturesque 19th century streetscapes and surrounding countryside, both natural and modified, engender responsive creativity and artistic opportunities.

The Centre is based at the former Union Bank, a building of great heritage significance, constructed in 1865 at the height of the gold rush in Victoria. It is the earliest surviving  bank building in historic Fraser Street, Clunes, and banks elsewhere in Victoria followed its characteristic design.
